Welcome to the Notla River Baptist Association.  We are a cooperating group of 26 Southern Baptist churches located in the beautiful and picturesque North Georgia mountains.  Union County and its many neighborhoods hold some of the most beautiful landscapes on earth.  We invite you to take a moment and look around our website at the ministries that we have to offer.

The Notla (also spelled Notley, Notly, or Nottla) River Baptist Association was founded as an independent association in 1839.  It changed its name to Valley River # 1 Baptist Association in 1840.  It changed its name back to Notley River Baptist Association in 1847 and corresponded with the North Carolina Western Baptist Convention.  In 1849, it merged with Valley River # 2 Association to constitute Hi(a)wassee United Baptist Association.  It reconstituted in 1862 as an independent association.  The official year given for the first annual session of the churches in the NOTLA River Association is 1862.  The association joined the Georgia Baptist Convention in 1897.  The oldest church in the Association is Choestoe Baptist Church established in 1832 and the newest church is Redeemer Baptist Church established in 2009.

The mission statement of the association based on Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8 states, "Notla River Baptist Association exists to work together with our churches as a resource in accomplishing the Great Commission".
